As Director of Communications for the Society of the Holy Child Jesus (Rosemont, PA), Kim has increased the order's visibility and public profile by building a diversified communications program that includes print, media, online, and social networking strategies. During her tenure with the Society, Kim has co-chaired the planning committee for a yearlong Bicentennial celebration which included numerous special events and projects such as the initiation of a public relations campaign that garnered close to 70 media hits and the development of a new website that tripled the amount of time visitors spend on the site. Kim and her staff have also begun an expanding social media program through the development of compelling web sites (www.holychild200.org), the creation of a fan page on Facebook, a YouTube Channel, and a blog, as well as through the use of Twitter and video streaming.
Prior to her time with the Society, Kim was a Project Coordinator, and then Project Supervisor in the field of online learning with Cognitive Arts in New York City, as well as having served as the Director of Special Projects for Search Communications in Philadelphia. Kim holds both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communications.

Debbi Della Porta was hired as the director of communications for the Mid-Atlantic Community (parts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and New York) of the Sisters of Mercy three years ago to help with informing the internal audiences about the community’s reconfiguration/reimagination process. Prior to that, she worked in school public relations for 10 years, as a public relations consultant for four years, and as the public relations director for a Lutheran non-profit agency for four years.
Her education background includes a Master’s degree in Professional Communications and a Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Her communications specialties are strategic planning and the use of research in devising communications strategies. Debbi participated in the “Reconfiguration: Communication Challenges and Opportunities” panel discussion at the 2006 NCNWR Conference in San Antonio, Texas. At that time, she shared the Mid-Atlantic Community’s communication plan and explained what worked and what didn’t. She also shared information about webcasting the Mid-Atlantic’s Inaugural Assembly earlier that year. Debbi is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the American Marketing Association.

Jennifer Roseman has been director of communications and development for the Sisters of Providence, Mother Joseph Province, since 2001. The province, which has headquarters in Renton, Washington, includes Alaska, Idaho, Oregon, Montana, California, Washington and El Salvador. Jennifer's background includes 20 years as a newspaper reporter and editor in New York, San Diego and Spokane, and eight years as head of communications, marketing and development for a community college district in Spokane. She holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from New York University, a master's degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University, and, as of May 2007, a master's degree in library and information science from the University of Washington. Jennifer has been active in many organizations at the local, state and national level, including the Philanthropy Commission of the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), the Washington State African American Affairs Commission, the Washington Commission for the Humanities, the National Association of Black Journalists, and as a 10-year trustee of Spokane Public Library. She serves as NCNWR liaison for Region 15 and has done media and crisis communications training for groups including LCWR Region 15.

Sister Paulette’s appointment three years ago as the director of a re-opened office of communications in her congregation’s New England Province brought her full-circle from the early 1970s (co-founder of a monthly province newsletter) to today. In those 30-plus in-between years, after a brief stint in the high school classroom, Paulette worked for 14 years in college enrollment management, public relations, alumni and development offices, a dozen years in marketing, special events and fund raising with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, six years in province leadership, and back to communications within the province/congregation. Her volunteer commitments such as with the United Way in training loaned executives, reflect her professional background which includes an undergraduate degree in English and a graduate degree in public relations.

Julie Gilberto-Brady is the communications coordinator for the School Sisters of Notre Dame’s North American Major Area and is responsible for developing and implementing an integrated public relations/communications program for the congregation’s external and internal audiences. Julie’s work for the sisters at the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women conference was named an NCNWR Best Practice in 2008. She has been an NCNWR member for five years and has served on the NCNWR Marketing Committee. A graduate of Virginia Tech with a degree in communications, Julie began her career as a newspaper reporter in North Carolina before moving to Texas, where she covered higher education and then was assistant national/foreign editor at the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. After moving to the Chicago area 15 years ago, Julie worked as a writer and public relations consultant. She earned her master’s degree in communications from Northwestern University.

Jean L. Merry is the director of communications for the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi, St. Francis, Wisconsin. She has worked in marketing and communications for more than 30 years. Before joining the sisters in 2003, she had been with Prudential Financial for 14 years, heading up the nationwide marketing and communication efforts for its agricultural divisions, and achieved the level of vice president. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, she earned a bachelor's degree in English, with minors in journalism and Spanish. After teaching communications classes for a number of years in both public and parochial schools, she took graphic arts instruction at Milwaukee Area Technical College, and began her career in corporate marketing. She then earned her master's degree in business management at Cardinal Stritch University. Before joining Prudential, she held marketing positions at Weasler Engineering, Inc., in West Bend, Wis., and at the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans in Brookfield, Wis.

Barbara returns to a newly created position in her community as director of mission advancement, a combination of communications and development for the Sisters of St. Joseph of Chambery, after completing a five-year term in leadership for her congregation. Barbara's professional background covers careers in Nursing, Nursing Education, Gerontology, Healthcare Administration, Communications/Public Relations and Finance.
Her communications/public relations experiences span 25+ years. For eight years, she worked in the community relations/public affairs department at one of the Sisters of St. Joseph's sponsored hospitals. She provided graphic design and editorial work to the Archdiocese of Hartford for its required "Safe Environment Program" on child safety and has provided other communication consultation services to religious communities in New England. Barbara is presently a member of a four-person planning team for her international congregation’s October 2009 General Chapter. The United States Province is one of 16 Chambery Provinces with a combined membership of close to 2,000 sisters on five continents.
Barbara is a longtime member of NCNWR. She previously served on the NCNWR board and was co-chair with Linda Macdonald from 2001–2002. She is a member of the New England Communicators for Women Religious (NECWR).

She earned a bachelor’s degree in information systems from St. Francis Xavier University.

Leah Wand has been the communications/public relations director for Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O'Fallon, Missouri, since 2003. She received a bachelor's degree in communications management with an emphasis in employee relations from Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State University) in Springfield, Missouri, in 1997. Prior to joining the Sisters of the Most Precious Blood of O'Fallon, Leah worked as the executive director of the Troy Chamber of Commerce and for Carpenter and Company handling the media relations department for their television show, "The Casting Crew," on ESPN2. She is currently the treasurer for NCNWR Region 10 St. Louis. She and her husband, Jim, live in Eureka, Missouri.

Annmarie Sanders, IHM, serves as the director of communications for the Leadership Conference of Women Religious. She has worked for the past 18 years in communications for her congregation, Marywood College and in Peru for Latinamerica Press/Noticias Aliadas. She holds a master of arts degree in public communications from Fordham University. She also serves as a spiritual director and is a member of the African Sisters Education Collaborative. She is the LCWR liaison to the NCNWR board.

Carol Schuck Scheiber is an independent writer and editor. She serves as editor of HORIZON, journal of the National Religious Vocation Conference, and "Focus on Vocation Ministry," its monthly online newsletter. She also is content editor for VISION: The Annual Vocation Discernment Guide. A 1982 graduate of Michigan State University, she started out in magazine publishing. In the 1980s she was an editor for Salt, a Catholic social justice magazine published by Claretian Publications in Chicago, and a staff writer for Loyola University publications. Pursuing her interest in social change and world cultures, she spent two years as a field worker for the Archdiocese of Ciudad Bolivar, Venezuela. Carol is the NRVC liaison to the NCNWR board.
