NewsHaiti: Society of the Sacred Heart of Jesus
January 22, 2010 The three RSCJ based in Port-Au-Prince are safe but the house was destroyed. Gratitude is given to the Daughters of Mary, who gave hospitality to Josefa Corrada, RSCJ, after she was able to get out of the building. Sister Corrada and the other RSCJ will move to Verrettes, where Sacred Heart educational programs are offered. RSCJ in the rural north (Verrettes) also train unemployed young adults to work as monitors and assistants in those programs. In Port au Prince, the RSCJ work in "Faith and Justice" education, teach Spanish to seminarians and do spiritual direction and faith development with young women as well as vocation ministry.
