NewsHaiti: Sisters of Mercy, Mid-Atlantic Community
January 20, 2010 Three members of the Mid-Atlantic Community of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas are involved with the relief efforts in Haiti: Betty Scanlon, RSM, program director for Medicines for Humanity, Mary Jo McGinley, RSM, executive director for Global Health Ministry, and Dr. Karen Schneider, RSM, who ministers as a pediatrician through John Hopkins University. Sister Mary Jo was interviewed about the situation in Haiti in the Delaware County Daily Times. Sister Karen is currently on a medical team in Haiti and was featured this weekend on CNN and ABC News. Sister Betty plans to travel to Haiti next week. Please keep these wonderful women in your prayers as they minister to people in need. Debbi Della Porta
