NewsMound offers European pilgrimage without traveling
May 15, 2009 Mound offers European pilgrimage without traveling SINSINAWA, WI -- Sinsinawa Mound is offering a new version of touring Europe. Instead of going there, come to the Mound for an "Armchair Lands of Dominic Pilgrimage." June 14-19, explore through lectures, discussion, and liturgies the areas where St. Dominic lived and preached, all presented just as if you were on the actual pilgrimage. Experience Caleruega, Spain, Dominic's home town; Osma, Spain, where he was professed as a canon and began to live common life; Prouille, Fanjeaux, Carcasonne, and Toulouse, France; Bologna, Italy, where Dominic is entombed; Santa Sabina in Rome, Italy; Florence, Italy, where Fra Angelico painted; and Siena, Italy, St. Catherine's home. Father Matt Walsh, OP, and Sisters Ann Willits, OP, and Mary Ellen Winston, OP, will lead the armchair pilgrimage. The fee is $385 for an overnight guest and $223 for a commuter. The registration deadline is June 7. For more information or to register, contact Guest Services at (608) 748-4411 or visit our Web site at www.sinsinawa.org. Sinsinawa Mound, the Motherhouse for the Sinsinawa Dominican Sisters, is located in southwest Wisconsin on County Road Z, off Highway 11, about five miles northeast of Dubuque. ### Eileen Dushek-Manthe
